  17. I hope someone out there is able to help me. I have a structural problem
  18. with Multitech modems (MT2834ZPXI) when dialing into our modem pool of 
  19. Microcom deskporte FAST. Other brands of modems (Dynalink, Microcom,
  20. Zoom, Tornado, etc) show no problem. I'm talking V.34 connections here.

  22. The symptoms are that whenever the connection is at < 28.8, the Multitech
  23. will 'freeze' after just a few seconds/characters. When the connection 
  24. is at 28.8, everything works fine.

  26. I've talked to Multitech and they refer me to Microcom. The support 
  27. guys from microcom tell me that there is a structural problem with the
  28. Multitech when connecting to any modem with the Rockwell chipset. This
  29. problem has to do with a failure to retrain.
